A Cotton Candy Cottontail

We’ve been invited to Easter brunch and I can’t wait! I offered to bring a themed drink, instead of a typical host gift, to help with prep since it’s a big group. My friends were thrilled to have a little help and I have the perfect idea that will bring smiles all around, especially for a lot of excited kids. Plus, I’ve had my eye on cotton candy for weeks and can’t wait to incorporate it into the drink!

So, I’m making a cotton candy mocktail (or punch with a real cotton candy kick) and a cotton candy cocktail. Let’s get this sugar rush started!

I’m having a lot of fun with the Easter theme and creating cotton candy cottontails for our drinks. These bunny tails aren’t perfectly even because no bunny is alike! (And, nobody’s perfect.) The kids and non-alcoholic drinkers will love this fizzy refresher.

Pink Cottontail Punch
1 part Gingerale
1 part Cranberry Juice
Strawberries
Cotton Candy

Pour half Gingerale, half cranberry juice into a large pitcher. Add ice and generously float trimmed and halved strawberries into the drink. Put cotton candy (in the shape of a bunny tail) on straws and place in each cup. Pour into cup and let the drinker have fun dropping the cotton candy into the punch. Watch it fizz!

It’s only appropriate to name this a “cockTAIL” to highlight the pink bunny tail sitting in your martini glass.

Cotton Candy CockTAIL
2 oz Vodka
1 oz Sparkling Rose
¼ oz Fresh Lime Juice
Splash of Cranberry Juice
Cotton Candy
Garnish with a Strawberry

Place cotton candy (in the shape of a bunny tail) in the martini glass and garnish with a strawberry. In a shaker filled with ice, combine vodka, sparkling rose, cranberry and lime. Shake and pour over the cotton candy. Watch it fizz!

These recipes work for any spring event. Feel free to change the name for your party theme. (I’m already thinking we need to use them for a circus themed party!)

Have fun and happy hopping!

Splish Splash!
